Mr. Massey has been the Director of Bands at Chaparral High School since 2025. He was previously the Director of Bands at Clayton High School Bands in North Carolina for several years.  He is a native of Cary, NC. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. He served as Drum Major for the ECU Marching Pirates in 2018 and 2019, and was an active member of several ECU ensembles, including the ECU Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. He was nominated for ECU Student Teacher of the year by the ECU Music Education Faculty and named Outstanding Senior for Instrumental Music Education. Mr. Massey also served as a Drum Major for the award-winning Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps in 2018 and 2019, and he served as the Cascades Head Drum Major in 2019. In his spare time, Mr. Massey is an avid hiker and loves to be outdoors. He also loves playing video games, cooking, and reading sci-fi/fantasy novels. He looks forward to building a community of growth and excellence.
